Youbisheng Green Paper AG: EBIT margin increases to 24.9 per cent
Youbisheng Green Paper AG / Key word(s): Quarter Results 28.05.2013 / 12:27 --------------------------------------------------------------------- Q1 Results 2013 Youbisheng Green Paper AG: EBIT margin increases to 24.9 per cent Munich, 28 May 2013. Youbisheng Green Paper AG, a Chinese manufacturer of eco-friendly linerboard for the growing Chinese consumer goods industry, managed to achieve a 3.8 per cent increase of its operating profit (EBIT) to 5.5 million Euros, even though revenues decreased slightly by 1.8 per cent from 22.4 million Euros in Q1 2012 to 22.0 million Euros in Q1 2013. Reason for the revenue decrease was the 2.8 per cent lower average selling price of Youbisheng's testliner compared to the previous year. This is mainly due to the decline of wood pulp and recycled paper prices, which resulted in the cut of linerboard selling prices. On the other hand, the lower raw material prices had a positive effect on the costs of goods sold and gross profit grew by 5.4 per cent to 6.0 million Euros with a gross profit margin of 27.0 per cent in Q1 2013 (Q1 2012: 25.2 per cent). The EBIT margin showed an increase of 1.7 percentage points to 24.9 per cent. During the first quarter 2013 the company managed to increase the sales of its innovative products. The sale of Youbisheng's double-sided testliner increased by 21.4 per cent from 4.2 million Euros in Q1 2012 to 5.1 million Euros in Q1 2013. Furthermore, the average gross profit margin for double-sided testliner grew to 32.5 per cent during the period. The sales of anti-counterfeit testliner, which was launched in 2012, amounted to 0.6 million Euros, with the highest average gross profit margin within Youbisheng's product portfolio of 35.1 per cent. Youbisheng's sales of own and sub-contracted single-sided testliner decreased due to the decline in sales volume and retrogressive average selling prices. The company's Group equity increased from 64.0 million Euros as of 31 December 2012 to 70.8 million Euros as of 31 March 2013, representing an equity ratio of 72.9 per cent. Despite slowing economic growth in China, Youbisheng's next goal is to further expand and set up a new production plant in Huanggang City. According to a survey the company carried out, there is a growing demand for quality linerboard suppliers from local packaging manufacturers in the respective area. This confirms Youbisheng's plans to extend its efficiency since the production plants are currently used to their full capacities. Once the production starts, the company will be able to increase its revenues significantly. In the meantime, Youbisheng will keep focussing on its innovative product mix in order to maintain sustainable growth. In this context the company plans to soon launch a super thin linerboard, which can be used as an insulator in electronic circuits. For the fiscal year 2013, management expects revenues to reach over 110.0 million Euros and an EBIT margin of at least 24.0 per cent.
