Group sales increased by 4,3 % up to EUR 673.1 mill. - preliminary Group-EBIT amounts to EUR 22.4 mill.

MEDICLIN Aktiengesellschaft (MEDICLIN) has achieved Group sales of EUR 673.1 mill. (previous year: EUR 645.1 mill.) in the 2019 financial year. Sales plus amounts to EUR 28.0 mill or 4.3 %.

The preliminary Group EBIT accounts for EUR 22.4 mill. (previous year: EUR 15.1 mill.).

The preliminary total consolidated result shows 9.7 mill. (previous year: 7.8 mill.). The preliminary earnings per share is EUR 0.20 (previous year: EUR 0.16).

Sales increase in the post-acute and acute segment

In the post-acute segment sales increased by EUR 16.2 mill. or 4.1 % from EUR 400.5 mill. up to EUR 416.7 mill. The preliminary segment result amounts to EUR 23.0 mill. (previous year: EUR 20.5 mill.). Sales in the acute segment improved by EUR 12.3 milI. or 5.5 % from EUR 224.3 mill. up to EUR 236.6 mill. The preliminary segment-EBIT for the total year is EUR 1.6 mill. (previous year: EUR -1,2 mill.). In the nursing care business area sales decreased slightly from EUR 15.5 mill up to EUR 15.3 mill.

Further increase in number of staff

In the Group, 10.474 employ were employed as of 31 December 2019, wherein the number of staff in the nursing profession increased significantly compared to the previous year's number. On average for the year the number of full-time employees was 7,431 full-time employees (previous year: 7,226 full-time employees).

Sound financial structure

The equity ratio is 21.2 %, and the net financial debt amounts to EUR 62.5 mill. In addition to cash and cash equivalents of EUR 37.8 mill, the Group has credit lines to finance capacity expansions in MEDICLIN's medical focus areas and thus additional sales.

In the FY 2019 EUR 48.2 mill. (previous year: EUR 49.3 mill.) were invested in non-current assets (gross amount). EUR 17.5 mill. (previous year: EUR 18.5 mill.) was spent on maintenance and repair.

The annual report 2019 will be available under www.mediclin.de in German and English from 26 March 2020.
