CEO Steffen Hornbach wishes to stand down at end of year

Bornheim bei Landau, August 16, 2019.

Steffen Hornbach today notified the Supervisory Board of his desire to stand down as CEO and retire from the Board of Management of HORNBACH Baumarkt AG as of December 31, 2019, provided that a new CEO has been appointed. Steffen Hornbach wishes to implement this decision, which he has taken for personal reasons, in agreement with the company's Supervisory Board and will be holding talks to this end with the Board and its Personnel Committee.

The Supervisory Board has taken note of his request and will appoint a suitable successor, who may be an external candidate, at the earliest possible opportunity.

Steffen Hornbach (61) joined the company in 1988 and was appointed to the Board of Management in 1992. He has been the CEO of the listed DIY store operator since November 1, 2001.
