Successful first day of trading

Dusseldorf, Jan. 11th, 2010 - Tantalus Rare Earths AG with its registered

shares on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange today. The trading day ended with a
trading volume of 13,535 shares on the trading floor with a plus of 44.12%.
Additionally, trading on the electronic trading platform XETRA will

the area of rare earths with a nominal share capital of 2,057,069 Euro.
Rare earth metals can be found for example in hybrid cars, wind turbines,
mobile phones, computers and displays. Based on the increasing demand it
can be assumed that a supply deficit is likely in the near future. The main
supplier of rare earths with a market share of approx. 95% is China which
gave hint of reducing its exports.

Tantalus Rare Earths AG currently has its focus on the Tantalus project in
Madagascar. The 300km² large, exclusive exploration license is located on
the Ampasindava peninsula in the northern part of the country.

A preliminary diluted mineral inventory estimate based on detailed surface
sampling, pitting and trenching indicates in excess of 14.4 mn tonnes at
1.52% rare earth oxide equivalent.
