Peoples Republic of China issues iQ Power second patent for its battery electrolyte mixing technology

Zug/Switzerland, 21 August 2012 - iQ Power AG (ISIN: CH0020609688, WKN: A0DQVL, Symbol: IQPB), the developer and marketer of technologies for eco-friendly and technologically advanced starter batteries for motor vehicles, announces the second patent issued in the Peoples Republic of China.

The patent issued in China protects the manufacturing processes necessary for efficient and effective assembly of iQ Power parts. This same patent has already been issued in most major markets in Europe, North America and Asia.

The issuance of the patent in China is further evidence of the pipeline patent strategy of iQ Power. This strategy makes it very risky for competitors to try to work around iQ Power patents, because of the legally enforceable protection available to applied patents and patents pending, which are not open for public review.

China is the world's largest market for new cars. China has implemented many laws for protection of intellectual property in the last few years and is increasingly seen internationally to reliably enforce protection of patents and other intellectual properties.
