A product enhancement order from a leading global provider of heating
systems: forecast annual sales volume in the six-figure euro range -
additional orders expected in the coming quarters - Nanogate establishes
itself with innovative energy-efficiency coatings in the million euro
market for heat exchangers

Göttelborn, Germany, 18 October 2012. Nanogate AG (ISIN DE000A0JKHC9), the
leading international integrated systems provider for high-performance
surfaces, has started work on a high-volume order for coating heating
systems. In the years ahead Nanogate is expecting this mass production to
generate annual revenue in the six-figure euro range. In the medium term
the technology has a seven-figure revenue potential. Nanogate equips heat
exchangers for a leading global provider with innovative energy-efficiency
coatings, a proprietary development. This has enabled Nanogate to break
into a future volume market capable of generating annual global revenues
well in excess of EUR 100 million. Nanogate is responsible for material
development and manufacture as well as for the ongoing mass production. The
order confirms the Group's strategy of developing high-performance
cleantech applications that minimise the use of resources.

Nanogate supplies entire system and undertakes mass production
Following the successful conclusion of the preparatory work, mass
production for the new generation of energy efficiency systems has now
entered its operational phase. Nanogate has run an intensive marketing
campaign for the new technology over the last few months and has already
delivered the first coated heat exchangers for selected applications, such
as for the Bosch Group. The innovative energy-efficiency surface is based
on the permaProtect(R) product line, which Nanogate developed independently
as part of an all-round innovation campaign. One key success factor was the
fact that Nanogate controls the entire value chain, from material
development and manufacture through to mass production. Over the last two
years, the number of heat exchangers enhanced has also multiplied. The
start of mass production for high-volume applications marks another
milestone for Nanogate AG in the field of energy efficiency. In the months
ahead, heating systems equipped with Nanogate technology will be rolled out
to individual markets and also presented at high-profile international
trade fairs such as the ISH 2013 in Frankfurt am Main.

Energy efficiency systems are drivers of growth
The high-performance surface developed by Nanogate ensures that the
effectiveness of heat exchangers with the coatings remains constant over a
long period. Further benefits of the coating are that it can significantly
extend the periods between servicing and cleaning as well as the life of
the heating system. The innovative protective coating shields light metals
such as aluminium against corrosion and prevents combustion residue from
sticking. In conventional systems, aggressive exhaust fumes pollute the
heating system with advancing service life and cause aluminium heat
exchangers to corrode. This reduces the transfer of heat and, in turn, the
energy efficiency of the system. By contrast, the anti-adhesive function in
the coated version ensures that heat transfer is largely maintained. The
heat exchangers are not only more efficient, but also meet higher quality
standards.
