Essanelle Hair Group presents half-year results


* Sales revenues at EUR 62.8 million after EUR 63.0 million
* EBT increases significantly from EUR 1.7 million to EUR 2.5 million
* Positive outlook for the entire year


Dusseldorf, 17 August 2012 - In the second quarter of 2012, Essanelle Hair
Group AG has continued the positive performance of the first quarter. After
six months of 2012, sales revenues ranged at EUR 62.8 million after EUR
63.0 million in the first half of 2011. This development ranges above our
own expectations, especially in view of the loss in sales generated by the
TOP TEN concept that fell away entirely compared to last year (EUR 2.4
million). Regarding the individual salon concepts, HairExpress increased
sales by 9.8% from EUR 18.7 million to EUR 20.5 million in the first half
of the year. Super Cut also generated a significant increase by 8.3% from
EUR 10.6 million to EUR 11.4 million today. The concept essanelle Ihr
Friseur grossed EUR 27.4 million after EUR 28.1 million in the same period
of the previous year (-2.5%). With sales amounting to EUR 3.5 million, the
Beauty Hair Shop concept, which specialises in the sale of exclusive hair
care products, ranges at 6.0% above previous year's level of EUR 3.3
million.

As already apparent after the first three months, Essanelle Hair Group was
again able to significantly improve earnings figures in the first half of
the year. Compared to the previous year, Earnings Before Interest, Taxes,
Depreciation and Amortisation (EBITDA) increased by 12.3% from EUR 4.3
million to EUR 4.9 million. At EUR 2.5 million, Earnings Before Taxes (EBT)
range 45.6% above the previous year's figure of EUR 1.7 million after the
first six months of 2012. Finally, the result per share amounts to EUR 0.33
after EUR 0.22 Euro in the previous year.

Achim Mansen, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Essanelle Hair Group AG: 'We
continued the positive performance of the first three months seamlessly in
the second quarter and are thus heading in the right direction after the
first half of the year. As things stand now, we expect to achieve our
projections for the full year (a decrease in sales by 1 to 2%, EBT of EUR
5.5 to 6.0 million) on the higher end of the scale. The great importance of
the fourth quarter regarding sales and earnings and the Christmas business
period that is two days shorter than last year, remain factors of
uncertainty.'
