Essanelle Hair Group presents figures for the first quarter 
* Sales revenues almost on previous year's level with EUR 30.8 million 
* EBT increases from EUR 0.6 million to EUR 1.0 million

Düsseldorf, 16 May 2012 - In the first quarter of 2012, the sales revenues
of Essanelle Hair Group AG almost reached the previous year's level with
EUR
30.8 million after EUR 30.9 million (-0.3%). It must be noted that the
concept Top Ten still generated sales revenue to the amount of EUR 1.2
million in the previous year which ceased to apply in the first quarter of
the current year. Among the individual salon concepts, HairExpress
increased
sales by 11.4% from EUR 9.1 million to EUR 10.1 million. Super Cut
generated
EUR 5.6 million after EUR 5.2 million in the same period of the previous
year (+6.8%). The concept essanelle Ihr Friseur generated EUR 13.5 million
after EUR 13.8 million in the previous year (-2.6%). The Beauty Hair Shop
concept, which specialises in the sale of exclusive hair care products
increased by 5.0% above the previous year's level with sales amounting to
EUR 1.7 million after EUR 1.6 million.

Essanelle Hair Group was able to significantly improve its earnings
performance indicators throughout. Earnings Before Interest, Taxes,
Depreciation and Amortization (EBITDA) increased by 13.1% from EUR 1.9
million to EUR 2.1 million compared to the previous year. After the first
three months of 2012, Earnings Before Tax (EBT) ranges 65.1% above the
previous year's value with EUR 1.0 million after EUR 0.6 million. Finally,
earnings per share amounted to EUR 0.12 after EUR 0.07 in the previous
year.

Achim Mansen, CEO of Essanelle Hair Group AG, said: 'We are quite satisfied
with the first quarter - regarding sales revenues, we were able to almost
entirely compensate the lost sales revenue from Top Ten. The improved
earnings performance indicators also show that it was the right decision to
close some salons with weak earnings in the past years. For the full year,
we continue to expect sales revenues to be 1-2% below the previous year and
an EBT between EUR 5.5 million and EUR 6.0 million.'
