Einhell acquires kwb

The Einhell Group has on the 02 May 2012, upon approval by the supervisory board taken over the company kwb tools GmbH & Co. KG. kwb is an internationally operating merchandising and service company based in Stuhr, next to Bremen. The Transaction should be probably finished till the middle of May 2012.

With that acquisition, Einhell integrates a specialist and leading European provider of a system of power tool accessories and hand tools in the Einhell Group. The position of the managing director will assume the previous manager Mr. Gerrit Brand who has already gained experience for some years in the Einhell Group. He will be supported by the commercial managing director Mr. Alexander Uhl.

The outcome of the integration of the company, which was formed in 1931 in Bremen by Mr. Karl Wilhelm Burmeister and continued over 50 years in Stuhr outside the gates of Bremen by his son Mr. Karl Hans Burmeister, is for the proportionately business year May till December 2012 an expected sales contribution of around EUR 15-20 million.

For the future, with the acquisition is Einhell able to offer a comprehensive range of accessories for all power tools on the highest level of quality and will be together with kwb an attractive partner for the DIY and the specialist shops. This will support Einhell on the way to its establishment as A brand as well as its further internationalization.

The chairman of the Board of Einhell Germany AG, Mr. Andreas Kroiss, is very confident: 'In view of the many years of experience in the business of power tool accessories and a multiplicity of interesting projects, the prospects are better than ever. We trust in the highly motivated and powerful team of kwb and with it we look together in an even more successfully future.'

The acquisition will have a positive effect on the customers of kwb: Beside the economic stability and the technical potential of development of the parent company Einhell, they will also profit from the excellent product quality and the strong brand kwb.
