NEW YORK, March 17, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Dennis M. Nally has been
elected
Chairman of the PricewaterhouseCoopers International Network for a four
year
term beginning on July, 1, 2009. PwC member firms worldwide ratified the
selection of Mr. Nally, 56, by the PricewaterhouseCoopers Global Board.
Samuel
A. DiPiazza, Jr., the current Chairman, announced last November that he was
retiring after a 35 year career with the firm. He will remain with PwC for
a
transition period and will formally retire from PwC later in 2009.

Mr. Nally has served as the Chairman and Senior Partner of
PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, the PwC United States member firm, since 2002
and
is a member of the global PwC Network Leadership Team and Chair of PwC's
Network Strategy Council. Mr. Nally's successor as chairman of PwC US will
be
announced later this year following an election process.

Mr. Nally joined PwC in the US in 1974 and became a partner in 1985. Prior
to
being elected US Firm Chairman, Mr. Nally served in a variety of
leadership and
client services roles. Recently, he led an extensive review of PwC's global
structure, which resulted in significant enhancements to the global Network
that were implemented in late 2008. As Chairman, Mr. Nally will continue to
serve on the PwC Network Leadership Team along with his successor as
chairman
of PwC US; Ian Powell, chairman of PwC UK; Silas Yang, chairman of PwC
China
Hong Kong; and Hans Wagener, chairman of PwC Germany.

Commenting on his selection, Mr. Nally said, 'I am honored that I have been
chosen and gratified by the confidence that PwC member firm partners
around the
world have shown in me at this challenging time for our business and for
the
global economy. I am confident in our ability to help our clients manage
through the recession and prepare for the recovery ahead.'

'The structural changes we implemented last year will give our clients
better
access to our best resources and knowledge and will allow the PwC network
to
recruit and develop the best talent around the world. It will also help us
achieve more consistent quality throughout our network, ' added Mr. Nally.

Paul V. Brasher, Chairman of PwC's Global Board, said, 'Dennis Nally has
been a
very successful and committed leader of the PwC US firm for almost seven
years.
During this time, he has built strong relationships around the PwC network
as
well as with clients and regulators. He has all the experience and
leadership
abilities needed to serve as Chairman of PwC's international network.'

'I would also like to thank Sam DiPiazza for his dedication to PwC over the
course of his career and particularly for the two full terms he led the PwC
network though a period of huge change and expansion. He has been a superb
ambassador for PwC right across the world,' added Mr. Brasher.
