MetrioPharm AG: Conversion of bearer shares to registered shares 

Zurich, 27th of November 2009: According to the resolution of an
extraordinary general meeting of MetrioPharm AG (WKN: A0MLMB; ISIN:
CH0029188817) on 30th of September 2009 share certificates of the company
will be converted from bearer shares to registered shares. The depositary
banks were requested to transfer the stock portfolio of their bailers from
bearer shares to registered shares at a ratio of 1:1 and to fulfill the
registration in the share register.

The bearer shares of MetrioPharm AG will be traded until the 30th of
November 2009 at the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. The trading of the
registered shares with a new ISIN code CH0107076744 will start on 1st of
December 2009.

'Due to the conversion to registered shares and shareholder entry in the
share register of the company we will be able to improve our investor
relations substantially. Since we are now able to build up a direct contact
to institutional as well as private investors we can achieve a sustainable
and long-term cost advantage through the maintenance of the share register.
Company information such as general meeting invitations, corporate news or
annual reports can reach the recipients without any spreading losses',
explained Dr. Wolfgang Brysch, president of the advisory board of
MetrioPharm AG.

The company will henceforth recognize only those persons who are registered
in the share register as shareholders. The previous owners of bearer shares
are requested either to be confirmed by their depositary bank that their
registration occurred or to get in touch with the company themselves. The
conversion of bearer shares to registered shares will not affect the legal
status of the share holders. The conversion of the bearer shares to
registered shares is exempt from charges for the shareholders. The new
registered shares are entitled to dividend for the whole business year
2009.
