Norddeutsche Affinerie AG and Dr Werner Marnette part company by mutual
consent

Hamburg, 9 November 2007. At its meeting today, the Supervisory Board of
Norddeutsche Affinerie AG (NA) has complied with the request of the Chief
Executive Officer, Dr Werner Marnette, to release him from his duties by
mutual consent.

The Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Dr Ernst J. Wortberg, thanked Dr
Marnette for his outstandingly successful contributions as Chief Executive
Officer of the company, for his efforts for the community and paid tribute
to his lifetime achievements.

During a transition period, the Chief Financial Officer, Dr Bernd Drouven
will coordinate the work of the Executive Board and represent the Executive
Board externally. Dr Michael Landau will take over Dr Marnette’s duties as
Director of Labour Affairs with immediate effect. A successor for Dr
Marnette will be appointed in the foreseeable future, announced Dr
Wortberg.
