MAN AG / Final Results Release of an Ad hoc announcement according to § 15 WpHG, transmitted by DGAP - a company of EquityStory AG. The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. 2008 was another successful year for the MAN Group despite the effects of the financial crisis. At EUR 1,729 million (+11%), the Group's operating profit was the best in its 250 year history (previous year: EUR 1,551 million). Its return on sales (ROS) rose to 11.6% (previous year: 11.0%), again well above the target figure. Revenue increased by 6% to EUR 14.9 billion. As in the previous year, MAN delivered more than 100,000 vehicles in 2008. However, demand for commercial vehicles fell sharply in the second half of the year. This was reflected in the decline in the order intake to EUR 14.0 billion (-21%). Losses from nonrecurring factors amounted to EUR 106 million in 2008. At EUR 1,643 million (previous year: EUR 1,679 million), the MAN Group's earnings before tax virtually matched the previous year's record figure despite the impact of nonrecurring factors. The MAN Group's net income totaled EUR 1,247 million, up slightly on the prior-year figure of EUR 1,225 million. Earnings per share from continuing operations rose from EUR 7.27 to EUR 7.76 (+7%). Earnings per share excluding nonrecurring result amounted to EUR 8.12 (+16%). The Executive Board and the Supervisory Board propose a dividend of EUR 2.00 per share to the Annual General Meeting.
