Adler Modemärkte AG: ADLER Expands Role as Innovation Leader
DGAP-News: Adler Modemärkte AG / Key word(s): Miscellaneous/Miscellaneous Press Release Open House in Erfurt: Haibach (near Aschaffenburg), 28 October 2016: As part of today’s open house and late night shopping event at its Erfurt store, Adler Modemärkte AG is inviting its customers to check out the world’s first inventory robot that is on call 24/7, as well as interactive fitting rooms. With these additions, ADLER is expanding the technical advantage it holds over the rest of the industry. Monitors in the interactive fitting rooms will automatically suggest and display matching accessories and other articles that can be combined with the garment that a customer is currently trying on. In addition, customers can also directly see what other colours and sizes are available, read the product information and check whether the articles are in stock. Furthermore, the sales staff can ascertain whether or not a fitting room is occupied or if garments have been left behind that can be returned to the sales floor. This is made possible by attaching radio frequency identification (RFID) tags to the articles. Customers can also use call buttons in the interactive fitting rooms to quickly and easily ask the sales staff for assistance. The sales staff receive an alert on their iPad once a call button is pressed. In addition to the interactive fitting rooms, ADLER’s Erfurt store is also premiering its new inventory robot. The robot also uses RFID technology and can read and record 40,000 to 70,000 RFID tags per hour. ADLER employees can access the inventory information collected by the robot at any time. This reduces inventory shortages and allows merchandise to be re-ordered in a timely manner. ADLER introduced RFID technology throughout the company in 2015 by outfitting the entire product range with the RFID tags at all of its stores. Another technological advance allows ADLER to collect customer opinions and feedback in Erfurt – as well as at all other ADLER stores – via touch screen customer satisfaction terminals. The terminals are installed near the cashier areas and/or exits so that customers can provide feedback before they leave the store. In the year since the terminals were rolled out, more than 700,000 ADLER customers have given feedback. Store managers, regional managers and headquarters receive weekly and monthly summary reports, allowing ADLER to continuously improve the quality of its in-store consultations and product range. ADLER’s customers appreciate being able to quickly give feedback via this easy-to-use tool. The survey only takes approximately 20 seconds and all answers are collected anonymously. Lothar Schäfer, CEO of ADLER Modemärkte AG, says, “Shopping for clothes should be easy and fun. Therefore, going forward, we will use technological innovations to continuously improve the in-store consultation our customers receive as well as their overall shopping experience.” About Adler Modemärkte: Press enquiries:
