Adler Modemärkte AG: ADLER Continues Expansion
Adler Modemärkte AG / Key word(s): Acquisition Press Release from Adler Modemärkte AG ADLER Acquires “hefa Moden” Stores in Mömlingen and Lollar ADLER Continues Expansion Mömlingen Store Opening Today Haibach (near Aschaffenburg), 5 March 2015. Adler Modemärkte AG – one of Germany’s largest textile retailers – acquired the successful and established “hefa Moden” fashion retail stores in Mömlingen (Miltenberg administrative district, Bavaria) and in Lollar (Gießen administrative district, Hesse) from the Faust family. With renovation and modernisation measures now complete, the Mömlingen store will reopen today as an ADLER store. The store in Lollar will be transferred to ADLER on 1 July 2015 and will initially continue to operate as a hefa fashion store. It is also being modernised and is expected to reopen its doors to customers in August 2015. “The Mömlingen and Lollar stores are an excellent fit with the expansion strategy we launched in 2014. Given their existing structures and substantial customer bases, we will integrate both locations into our network of stores. This will raise our level of customer service and drive forward our profit-oriented growth”, said ADLER CEO Lothar Schäfer. “hefa Moden” was the target of the recently announced acquisition of an existing mom-and-pop speciality textile retailer planned for Q1 2015. ADLER will absorb the employee and management teams in place at the Mömlingen and Lollar stores. The existing product range will continue to include the currently successful brands and will be made even more attractive through the addition of ADLER’s own brands. The stores in Mömlingen and Lollar offer inviting retail space and have a substantial customer base recruited from a relatively large catchment area. Customers who were previously members of the hefa bonus card programme will be invited to enjoy the benefits of the ADLER customer loyalty card. The Mömlingen and Lollar stores will also participate in ADLER’s “Click & Collect” programme, which allows customers to pick up merchandise they purchased online at ADLER stores. The Click & Collect programme targets customers online and in stores, thus further expanding ADLER’s omni-channel strategy. Adler Modemärkte AG, headquartered in Haibach near Aschaffenburg, Germany, is one of Germany’s largest and most important textile retailers. In 2013, the Group generated revenue of EUR528.6 million with a workforce of around 4,300, generating EUR42.9 million in EBITDA.
